What is Cheat Engine?

Cheat Engine is a free program used to cheat in computer games, allowing users to modify any numerical parameter such as health, money, resources, and experience in single-player video games. The application accesses the random access memory (RAM) of your computer, where all the code information about the current running game is stored, and changes it to the desired value.

This means you can increase your health or mana to "9999999 points," raise your strength, agility, intelligence, and talent points to any value, or give yourself a lot of gold and other resources in strategy games. All numerical values in the game are now completely under your control.

Note that Cheat Engine does not work in online games and games where data is stored on a server, not on your computer. Therefore, we recommend using it only in single-player games.

How to use Cheat Engine?

To begin, download Cheat Engine from the official website (which you can do by clicking on the link at the end of this article) for your Windows or MacOS operating system and install it. Now launch the game you want to cheat in, for example, "Heroes of Might and Magic III," determine what you want to replace, such as gold, and check its value, for example, "20000." Minimize the game, launch Cheat Engine, connect the program to the necessary *.exe process, and click "Open." In the "Value" field, enter our "20000" and click "Search."

There are too many values, so we need to filter out the extra ones. To do this, go back to the game, spend some gold to change the value, and check the new value, such as "17500." Return to Cheat Engine, enter "17500" in the same field, but click "Filter" - the list of addresses in the left column will narrow down to a single correct one.

Filtering doesn't always lead to a single address the first time, so you should change the value in the game again and repeat the filtering operation again.

Right-click on it and select "Change value of selected addresses," and enter the desired value, such as "1000000." Now return to the game and perform any in-game action that will update our discovered value.
